Our client, a global industrial manufacturing group, is seeking an experienced Commercial / Business Director to lead a specialist division focused on complex engineered mechanical systems across the EMEA region. With full P&L responsibility and strategic oversight, this is a senior leadership opportunity to drive business transformation and market expansion across both mature and emerging sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive growth strategy for the division, incorporating both organic and acquisition-driven initiatives.
- Lead annual business planning, setting and delivering revenue, margin, and profitability targets across equipment sales, service, and aftermarket.
- Expand engineering capabilities, product offerings, distribution channels, and supplier partnerships in line with evolving customer needs.
- Shape the division’s go-to-market strategy through market intelligence, competitive analysis, and customer insight.
- Build and lead a high-performing commercial and operational team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Strengthen internal collaboration across functions and maintain influential relationships with strategic customers and partners.
- Promote lean operational principles and ensure execution through effective systems and processes.
- Represent the division at executive level within the broader organisation.
Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in senior commercial or general management roles within industrial equipment manufacturing (e.g., compressors, pumps, rotating machinery, or similar capital equipment).
- 10+ years of leadership experience in a P&L-focused role with demonstrated business growth achievements.
- Background in engineering (ideally with a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering).
- Strong financial and operational acumen, capable of managing complex business models.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills across cultures and business levels.
- Results-oriented, hands-on leader with a strategic mindset and entrepreneurial drive.
