Engineering Manager
π Location: East Yorkshire (commutable from York, Hull, Goole, Selby, Beverley, Market Weighton, Holme-Upon-Spalding-Moor)
π° Salary: Up to Β£55,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

Are you a hands-on Engineering Manager looking for a leadership role where you can drive efficiency and continuous improvement? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading manufacturing business, ensuring the smooth operation of production through effective team management and engineering excellence. With a strong focus on team leadership, compliance, and preventative maintenance, this role requires 60-70% of time spent on the factory floor.
What Youβll Be Doing:
- Leading, motivating, and developing the engineering team to achieve business objectives.
- Managing engineering workload, prioritising and delegating tasks to maximise efficiency.
- Ensuring all plant, equipment, and systems comply with health & safety and food safety regulations.
- Driving a proactive maintenance strategy, minimising downtime and optimising production.
- Implementing and managing preventative maintenance systems and inspections.
- Controlling and improving engineering stores and spare parts management.
- Championing continuous improvement and best practices, introducing new technologies where appropriate.
- Supporting HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP teams as part of the food safety framework.
- Managing engineering health & safety and risk assessments in collaboration with the HS Officer.
- Providing on-call support to resolve urgent engineering issues outside normal working hours.
What Youβll Need:
β Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
β Extensive practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering.
β 16th / 17th Edition certification.
β Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
β Highly organised and proactive, with strong time management skills.
β Excellent project management and planning abilities.
β Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting data to drive intelligent engineering strategies.
β Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and remain calm in challenging situations.
β A positive, driven, and motivated attitude towards work and colleagues.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
β NEBOSH / IOSH qualification.
β Food hygiene qualification.
β Previous experience as an Engineering Manager in a food manufacturing environment.
