📍 Location: East Yorkshire (commutable from York, Hull, Goole, Selby, Beverley, Market Weighton, Holme-Upon-Spalding-Moor)
💰 Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits
🛫 Travel: Occasional travel to Northern Ireland

Are you a hands-on Engineering Manager looking for a leadership role where you can drive efficiency and continuous improvement? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading manufacturing business, ensuring the smooth operation of production through effective team management and engineering excellence. With a strong focus on team leadership, compliance, and preventative maintenance, this role requires 60-70% of time spent on the factory floor.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading, motivating, and developing the engineering team to achieve business objectives.
• Managing engineering workload, prioritising and delegating tasks to maximise efficiency.
• Ensuring all plant, equipment, and systems comply with health & safety and food safety regulations.
• Driving a proactive maintenance strategy, minimising downtime and optimising production.
• Implementing and managing preventative maintenance systems and inspections.
• Controlling and improving engineering stores and spare parts management.
• Championing continuous improvement and best practices, introducing new technologies where appropriate.
• Supporting HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP teams as part of the food safety framework.
• Managing engineering health & safety and risk assessments in collaboration with the HS Officer.
• Providing on-call support to resolve urgent engineering issues outside normal working hours.

What You’ll Need:

✔ Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
✔ Extensive practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering.
✔ 16th / 17th Edition certification.
✔ Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
✔ Highly organised and proactive, with strong time management skills.
✔ Excellent project management and planning abilities.
✔ Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting data to drive intelligent engineering strategies.
✔ Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and remain calm in challenging situations.
✔ A positive, driven, and motivated attitude towards work and colleagues.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

➕ NEBOSH / IOSH qualification.
➕ Food hygiene qualification.
➕ Previous experience as an Engineering Manager in a food manufacturing environment.
