Are you a technically driven Metallurgist looking to work on high-integrity aerospace and engineering components? Our client, a leading manufacturer of complex engineered products, is looking for an experienced or aspiring Metallurgist to join their established technical services laboratory.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a collaborative, fast-paced, and standards-driven environment, supporting testing, process development, accreditation compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out metallurgical testing, investigations, and reporting to support manufacturing and customer compliance
- Review and maintain procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, Nadcap, and customer standards
- Act as the primary laboratory contact for a designated business unit
- Lead and support First Article Inspection and periodic requalification testing
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to develop processes that meet metallurgical performance requirements
- Contribute to internal training, auditing, and continuous improvement across testing procedures
- Support external audits and uphold material and special process accreditations
- Liaise with production areas on technical investigations and process enhancements
- Assist with material development projects and optimisation of internal testing capabilities
Ideal Candidate:
- Degree or HND in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- Previous experience in an aerospace, automotive, or industrial metallurgical environment desirable
- Understanding of material properties, mechanical testing, and failure analysis
- Familiarity with Nadcap, ISO 17025 or other regulated quality systems is a strong advantage
- Effective communicator and problem-solver, with a proactive mindset
- Comfortable working within cross-functional teams and technical review groups
