Operations Manager - Manufacturing & Production

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimize the day-to-day functions of their plant, ensuring high-quality production, employee engagement, and compliance with state and federal regulations. 💼 Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 per annum (DOE)
📍 Location: Upland, CA – commutable from areas such as Los Angeles, Pasadena, Riverside, and Ontario. Relocation packages may be available for the right candidate.
What You’ll Do
As the Operations Manager, you’ll report to the General Manager and lead all aspects of plant operations, including:
- Managing a team of approximately 67 employees across two shifts, Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturdays).
- Driving the timely, efficient production of high-quality labels and literature to meet sales and customer demands.
- Managing budgets, plans, and administrative functions to ensure profitability and growth.
- Developing and motivating a team to maintain high morale, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Overseeing equipment scheduling, maintenance, and acquisition to optimize production capacity.
- Ensuring strict compliance with cGMP standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Championing Lean Manufacturing practices like 5S to foster continuous improvement.
- Building strong relationships with employees, customers, and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience: Strong proven history of relevant experience in manufacturing management, preferably in printing trades such as labels, offset, or finishing.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in manufacturing, business, engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Skills:
- Expertise in Flexo and Literature trades.
- Strong leadership, training, and team-building capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
- A solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Mechanical aptitude and analytical thinking.
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a bonus but not required.
- Attributes: Results-focused, adaptable, detail-oriented, and a team player.
You should also possess excellent communication skills, colour perception, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
